Get ready to blaze your own trail at the 3 rd annual Prairie Fire Rally! This isn't your typical weekend ride – it's an immersive three-day adventure meticulously crafted for riders who crave exploration, camaraderie, and the thrill of discovering hidden gems across the stunning Kansas landscape. Based out of the The Pondarosa "Girl Scout Camp" SW 110th St Coats, KS, 67028 Gps coordinates 37°29'07.8"N 98°56'30.9"W, the Prairie Fire Rally promises an unforgettable off-pavement experience for dual sport and overland enthusiasts.

Imagine waking up to the crisp autumn air, the anticipation of a brand new roadbook route buzzing in your veins. Each day, you'll embark on a curated journey, navigating winding gravel roads, picturesque backroads, and challenging yet rewarding terrain. Our expertly designed roadbooks, compatible with the Terra Pirata digital platform, will guide you through the heartland, revealing the beauty and character of the region in a way you've never experienced before.

More Than Just Riding:

The Prairie Fire Rally is about more than just the miles you conquer. It's about forging connections with fellow adventure riders and overlanders who share your passion for exploration. It's about the shared stories around the campfire, the camaraderie of tackling a challenging section together, and the satisfaction of reaching the day's destination.

Your Rally Package Includes:

  • Three Thrilling Days of Riding: Immerse yourself in the adventure with a fresh, meticulously planned roadbook route for each day. Discover new landscapes and push your riding skills in a safe and supportive environment.

  • Delicious Friday and Saturday Dinner: Recharge and connect with fellow riders over a hearty and satisfying dinner on Friday and Saturday evening. Share stories from the day's adventures and build lasting friendships.

Please Note:

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants, please be aware that the following are not included in the entry fee:

  • Camping & Lodging

    You’ll have several options for camping and lodging throughout the Prairie Fire Rally weekend.

    Thursday Night — The Ponderosa
    Primitive camping and RVs are welcome at The Ponderosa. If you prefer a hotel or Airbnb, lodging is available in Pratt, Kansas.

    Friday Night — American Oasis
    We’ll overnight at the American Oasis near Waynoka, Oklahoma. Primitive camping and camper rentals are available on-site. Please contact me before booking a camper rental so we can coordinate accommodations. You can also find an Airbnb or other lodging in Waynoka if you prefer.

    Saturday Night — The Ponderosa
    We’ll return to The Ponderosa for Saturday night. Primitive camping and RVs are welcome, or you can book a hotel or Airbnb in Pratt.

    Sunday Night — Optional
    You’re welcome to camp at The Ponderosa Sunday night if you want to stick around an extra night. Hotels and Airbnbs in Pratt are also an option.

  • Additional Meals: While Friday and Saturday dinner is provided, participants are responsible for their own breakfast and lunch arrangements for all three days, as well as dinner on Sunday. This allows you the flexibility to cater to your own preferences and dietary needs.

Essential Requirements for Participation:

Your safety and the smooth operation of the event are our top priorities. Therefore, all participants must meet the following requirements:

  • Digital Roadbook Capability: You will need a device (smartphone or tablet) capable of running the Terra Pirata digital roadbook application. Familiarity with digital roadbook navigation is highly recommended.

  • Street Legal Motorcycle: Your motorcycle must be legally registered and insured for on-road use. This ensures compliance with local regulations and the safety of all participants.

  • Personal Tools and Spare Parts: Be prepared for minor mechanical issues by bringing a basic toolkit and any spare parts specific to your motorcycle that might be necessary to complete the event.

  • Helmet: Wearing a DOT-approved helmet is mandatory at all times while riding. Your safety is paramount

    General Event Rules:

    • All vehicles must be street-legal, with up-to-date registration and insurance.

    • Participants must have a valid driver’s / operator’s license.

    • Participants must obey all traffic laws, including but not limited to posted speed limits and stop signs.  This is NOT A RACE!!!

    • Riders must carry basic tools and supplies in case of a flat tire or minor breakdown / mechanical issue.

    • Participants must carry a cell phone.  In addition, participants are strongly encouraged to carry a personal tracking / emergency call device. (Such as a Garmin inReach.)  Should you have an emergency, it is YOUR responsibility to call 9-1-1, or other suitable rescue / emergency response service.

    • Participants should come prepared to be self-sufficient.  You are on a personal adventure challenge, and You are responsible for You.  You must have someone you can call to come rescue you, should you break down and need help getting back home or back to Emporia.

    • A support vehicle(s) with limited tools and supplies will be available to assist participants on course.  This is NOT a “rescue” vehicle, but simply a way to help you get back to Emporia should you have a non-emergency need of assistance.  Response time may be lengthy, so be prepared.

    Full-Size Vehicle / 4x4 Requirements:

    • Full size vehicles only.  No Side-by-Sides!

    • 4WD/AWD vehicles only

    • 29” minimum tire size

    • Functioning seat belts and safety restraints

    • The ability to self recover (winch, traction boards, hi-lift jack, come along)

    • Navigational tools - Digital Roadbook Capability: You will need a device (smartphone or tablet) capable of running the Terra Pirata digital roadbook application. Familiarity with digital roadbook navigation is highly recommended.

    • Adequate lighting

    • All gear in the vehicle must be secured (no flying objects)

    • First aid kit

    • Passenger must be registered at $100 per passenger

    Motorcycle Requirements:

    • 200cc minimum displacement

    • DOT compliant Full Knobbies front and rear recommended

    • Navigational tools - Digital Roadbook Capability: You will need a device (smartphone or tablet) capable of running the Terra Pirata digital roadbook application. Familiarity with digital roadbook navigation is highly recommended.

    • First aid kit

    Required Gear for all Motorcyclists:

    • DOT approved Helmet

    • Goggles/safety glasses

    • Full length shirt/jersey and pants

    • Gloves

    • Full length boots
